The SoftShell Software Licensing System is a low cost, very flexible, and highly effective software licensing system that requires very little programming. You can create fully functional software that will time out in the period you specify (trial/shareware). SoftShell does not require that you lock your application to hardware. Optionally, you can lock your software to a custom string such as a name, email address, or company name. Other features include: lock to multiple types of hardware (hard drive serial number, MAC address, etc), SoftShell can automatically find the best hardware lock for you, license up to 24 optional features, and allow your registration to expire after a specified time period (e.g. leaseware). SoftShell does not require special permissions. In fact, SoftShell will allow your application to be run in guest mode. SoftShell works on most post NT Microsoft Windows operating systems - including Windows 7 - works in most virtual machines, and works on both 32 bit and 64 bit systems.
